Becoming More Fit

Fitness

Everyone has room to grow, but I’m going to tell how I’ve grown in Fitness class this year. In this class we try to improve on our fitness and stamina. I am writing my reflection on this because I personally feel like I’ve grown the most in this class. I feel that I’ve grown the most in this class is because I’ve notice significant changes from when I started on 8-14 and now, because I was able to improve my cardiovascular endurance(how well our heart and lung function) and as a result my stamina, and fitness as a whole as well.

One reason I feel that I have grown in this class is through Continues Jog. Continues Jog is a thing we do every fitness day, where we jog for a certain amount of time (currently 6min.) straight. I am was able to jog so long because I increased my stamina (when we talk about stamina, we mean the ability to endure). This increase to stamina applies to the rest of fitness as well

Another reason I’ve grown this year is because my RPE has increased. RPE stands for Rate of Perceived Exertion. In Fitness class, we do this as a reflection of how hard we had worked during a game or exercise. An example of this was on 2-8, when I ranked a 9 (the highest possible) during a game of ‘Steal the Gold’. At the start of the year, I usually had a 5-6 RPE, but now I usually have a 7-9 RPE, like in the example I gave above. This growth shows that I’ve been working harder, because now I am able to work harder because I increased my cardio vascular endurance.

Looking at these two artifacts (my increase in steps and RPE), you can tell that I’ve increased in my fitness and stamina. The increase to steps shows that my stamina increased because in order to have a higher amount of steps in the same time means that I have to move faster, and longer, which shows an increase in stamina. The increase in RPE shows that I have betters fitness because RPE is a reflection of how hard I work during a game or exercise, which is an overall thing. I have increased in overall fitness and stamina.

Like I’ve stated above, I have gotten better at fitness and stamina. DRSS has made me a better person through fitness because in fitness I was taught about persistence. Persistence is a useful skill that I can use in other situations in the future outside other fitness classes. I can use persistence every day, whether it’s in doing a math problem or, just doing chores, like being more willing to do the chore, or continuing a math problem before asking for help. The actual fitness can help me in doing chores and staying healthy via exercise and playing games outside.
